The SEPTEMBER Weekday Walk will be on WEDNESDAY 30th and will follow the Thomas Muir Heritage Trail from Kirkintilloch to Clachan of Campsie.
The route is mostly along the Strathkelvin Railway Path, which is also part of the John Muir Way and the National Cycle Route 755.
We'll meet at 10am at the Lidl Supermarket on Glasgow Road opposite the McDonalds ...

The railway path starts at the other side of the McDonalds and the walk from there is straightforward.
The total route distance is about 8.5km (5.3mls) with around 60m (200ft) of ascent and a time of 2-3 hours.
On arrival at our destination we can enjoy some rest and refreshment in The Glen Cafe Bistro before catching the X85 bus back to Kirkintilloch (20mins).
The walk could be doubled in time and distance by walking back to Kirkintilloch, if preferred.
It's also possible to get the X85 from Glasgow to the start point, leaving at 09:46 and arriving at 10:10.
